Amherst, NY —Alice Kryzan, Congressional Candidate NY-26, understands that the ongoing financial crisis is of critical importance to working families across Western New York. Last week, she released a statement in response to the crisis in our financial markets explaining the need to quickly stabilize the market, while ensuring that we have robust regulatory measures put in place, that taxpayers receive their fair share of any profits from companies they bailed out, that CEO compensation is limited, and that any effort to stabilize the market has some independent oversight.

Yet "businessman" Chris Lee has had nothing to say on this issue, including failing to explain how his support for less economic regulation applies to the current financial crisis caused in large part by the failure of any serious and effective regulatory oversight.

"Chris Lee has made deregulating our economy a centerpiece of his campaign," said spokesperson Anne Wadsworth. "Now that we’ve seen the disastrous result of continuing Bush’s failed policies, he has nothing to say. The people of this district need answers, not knee-jerk deregulation rhetoric."

But this silence from Lee is nothing new.  He has chosen to avoid real stands on almost any issue, preferring bland platitudes to concrete proposals. And of seven proposed debates, Lee has pulled out of two debates he had previously committed to and seems unwilling or unable to fit another four into his schedule.

For the last year, Alice has been running a campaign based on the issues important to the voters of the 26th District. Her positions and policy plans have been detailed in public appearances, in press interviews and on her website. Alice understands the importance of letting voters know where she stands on the issues affecting their lives:

"We need to let the people of this district know what we’re going to do to address the real issues they face every day. As I've said from day one, you'll always know where I stand, and how I plan to help the hardworking families of Western New York."

Where does Chris Lee stand on the current financial crisis? We think the voters of Western New York deserve an answer.
