Amherst, NY — Today, Congressional candidate Alice Kryzan released her middle class tax cut plan, Valuing Hard Work: Reforming our Tax System for the Middle Class. Alice outlines how she will provide tax cuts for middle class families and small businesses, simplify the tax code, make sure that corporations and the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share, and end tax loopholes that encourage companies to send jobs overseas.

Rising healthcare and energy costs combined with stagnating wages and fewer jobs are causing hardworking families to feel the pinch. The recent financial crisis has made the situation even worse, as many families see their savings and pensions being put at risk. But rather than address the problems facing the people of the district, Chris Lee keeps pushing the same failed policies, wanting to extend the Bush tax cuts for millionaires while ignoring the needs of the everyday worker. He just doesn't get it.

"Chris Lee wants a tax system that helps Wall Street CEOs, Big Oil and businessmen who ship jobs overseas," said campaign spokesperson Anne Wadsworth. "Does he really think the problem over the last eight years has been that millionaires can't buy a third house? Lee seems more concerned with giving himself a tax break than with helping the people of this district."

Alice Kryzan believes that we need a tax system that values hard work and protects the middle class. Her tax plan will:

And despite Chris Lee's dishonest ads, Alice will vote to extend child tax credits and will oppose efforts to bring back the marriage penalty.

"Our tax system says a lot about who we are as a society," said Alice. "It's time our tax system reflects the values of hardworking Americans, helping them to buy a home, raise a family, get an education, and start a new business. We need to get rid of a tax system that values company profits over people's lives."
