News: Kryzan Releases New Ad

As the representative of the 26th District, Alice is a problem-solver who will be an independent voice for the hardworking men and women of New York's 26th, who have been ignored by Washington for too long. Alice has made a career of bringing together people with different views on contentious issues and hammering out real-world solutions, skills she will bring to Congress to work for you. A New Kind of Politics:
Alice Looks to the General
September 15, 2008 — After winning the Democratic primary, Alice thanked her supporters across all seven counties for their hard work and the tremendous effort they have put into her grassroots campaign. The campaign's success was recognized across the country, as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added Alice to their highly competitive Red to Blue list for top Democratic candidates, and she received the endorsement of EMILY's List, which supports progressive women candidates.
Looking to the future, Alice called on Democrats, Republicans and Independents to join her in forging a new kind of politics, one focused on the people and not the powerful. As Alice said, "it's time for the people of the 26th district to have a representative they can be proud of."

We Got the Mo!
September 7, 2008 — Yesterday started when a woman jogger took a detour into the front door of Team Kryzan headquarters and cheered "I'm voting for Alice!". Later that day, a nurse signed up to come volunteer after she worked two back to back 13-hour shifts. On Saturday alone, between door knocking and phone calling, Team Kryzan reached more than 3,000 voters and most were overwhelmingly 'for Alice'! And finally, at the end of a busy day as Alice and Bob strolled through Williamsville’s Street Fest, person after person exclaimed 'Oh Alice! I love your ad!'

Today, the Re-ENERGIZE Buffalo blog joined the Alice bandwagon with this post: http://renewnrg.blogspot.com/, highlighting why Alice is the only true-green candidate in this race. Alice Makes Her Case
Kryzan, Powers Debate in Geneseo

September 3, 2008 — Alice took her message to the voters last night participating in the first formal debate of the Democratic primary. Hosted by SUNY Geneseo and moderated by News Channel 13 anchor, Evan Dawson, the debate featured Alice and Jon Powers, the only two candidates who agreed to appear. In the head-to-head debate, Alice challenged Jon’s grasp of the issues and questioned whether a candidate with so much establishment and special interest support was the one who would bring change to Washington. Alice focused on her pledge to bring green-collar jobs to Western New York, to fight for healthcare for all, and to work for campaign finance reform at the national level. She made it clear that she is the one candidate in the race with the experience, passion and judgment to lead. Click here for pictures from the debate.

Team Kryzan Marches in Clarence Center Labor Day Parade
September 1, 2008 — Today Alice joined the Amherst Broncos Cheerleading Team for this year's Clarence Center Labor Day Parade. The energetic squad, composed of girls ages 5 to 12, energized the crowd with cheers like: "A-L-I-C-E, Alice is our nominee!," all along the Clarence Center Road route. On what was the hottest day of the summer, Alice spent most of the parade jogging back and forth to shake hands with voters, many of whom commented on how much they enjoyed her latest tv commercial. It was a great way to celebrate Labor Day and Team Kryzan was surely a refreshing spot in the the parade lineup. Click here for more pictures from the parade. Alice Spends the Afternoon in North Tonawanda
August 30, 2008 — Alice spent today walking through the neighborhoods of North Tonawanda. Her first stop was at the home of Pendleton supervisor, James Riester, who had previously meet Alice at the Wendelville Fire Company Parade and Festival just a few weeks ago and has since become an enthusiastic supporter. He was happy to see Alice getting the word out about her campaign in Niagara County. When Alice knocked on the door of a constituent and introduced herself, a woman in the background exclaimed "It's Alice Kryzan!," rushing to the door to meet the candidate whom she had only known through her television commercial. The voter was thrilled to meet Alice in person and congratulated Alice on running such a "clean" campaign thus far, wishing the team the best of luck over the next 10 days. Click here for more photos.

Alice Travels to Lockport
August 29, 2008 — After meeting with the Lockport Union Sun and Journal, Alice went door-to-door to talk to voters in the area. Many voters noted that they had seen and liked Alice's TV ad, including Lockport resident Jeanne Sansone. While chatting they discovered that they both have ties to Alice's hometown of Youngstown, Ohio where Alice's father was a former Democratic mayor. Click here for more pictures from the day.
Alice Goes Door-to-Door in Batavia
August 27, 2008 — Alice traveled to Batavia in Genesee County today to talk to voters about her candidacy. She canvassed the neighborhood of Peggy Marone, Leadership Genesee Coordinator. Alice and Peggy discovered that they had a common friend, the former Executive Director of Leadership Buffalo (LB). Alice was a member of the 1989 LB class. Alice Visits Niagara, Monroe Counties; Hits the Phones

August 23rd & 24th — On Saturday, August 23rd Alice went door to door in Lockport in Niagara County reaching out to voters and visiting supporters. Team Kryzan joined her later in the afternoon for more canvassing. They really love the Erie Canal. Alice finished her day in Greece in Monroe County, dropping off yard signs to supporter Linda Stephens and delivering local peaches to Linda that Alice had stopped to buy along the way. Now that’s supporting the “eat local” plank of her environmental platform in the tastiest way. Although the rain put a damper on going door-to-door on Sunday, August 24th, Alice continued to reach out to voters from her headquarters in Amherst. She spent much of the day contacting voters in North Tonawanda by phone. She was well received, with one senior voter telling her: “You sound exactly like the candidate we’re looking for.” Even a brief power outage at headquarters didn’t stop Alice from talking to voters! Click here for more photos from the weekend.

Alice Talks to Amherst Voters
August 17, 2008 — Today, Alice was out with her son, Sam, meeting voters in Amherst. Alice's run for Congress is very much a family affair and Sam has enjoyed being home to support Mom before returning to law school in the Fall. Among the many residents they talked to that afternoon was Village of Williamsville resident Peggy Santillo.
Alice Steps Out In Pendleton

August 9, 2008 — Alice joined the residents of Pendleton at the annual Wendelville Fire Company Parade and Festival. Unlike other candidates, Alice decided to forego a ride in a sports car or vintage vehicle choosing to march with volunteers and meet constituents along the parade route. After the festival, local Pendleton residents greeted Alice, including one who commented: “You look like you were having fun out there…I’m gonna vote for you!” Team Kryzan had a great time supporting the Wendelville fireman and getting to know more constituents of the 26th District. Click here to see more pictures from the parade.
Alice Visits Genesee and Monroe Counties
Week of July 28 — On Friday, August 1, Alice marched in the Elba Onion Festival Parade in Genesee County with her campaign staff and supporters, including Elba resident Whitney Benton. Alice was excited and energized to get out and meet the voters, including reigning Onion Festival Queen Amy Dorman. Click here to see more pictures from the festival.
On Saturday, August 2nd, Alice and a team of volunteers canvassed Democratic voters in Greece. Canvassers included a member of the Greece Democratic Committee as well as other residents of Greece and the Rochester area. A reporter and a photographer from the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle joined Alice for some of the door-knocking as part of a profile story the paper is working on. Alice also had an interview with a reporter for the Rochester City Newspaper that same day.
Earlier in the week, Alice toured the Genesee Country Museum in the Town of Wheatland in Monroe County. Alice was unanimously endorsed by the Wheatland Democratic Committee and enjoys getting back there whenever she can! Led by Executive Director Peter Arnold, the tour was fun and informative. Believing that cultural tourism is an important part of the future of Western New York and needs to be supported, Alice was grateful to have the opportunity to see this wonderful museum first-hand.
Independence Day Celebrations Around the District

July 4-6, 2008 — In a busy July 4th weekend, Alice travelled through all seven counties of the District meeting voters and talking to them about her campaign. Independence Day featured stops in Brockport and Wheatland in Monroe County and the Village of Lancaster in Erie County, ending up in Alice’s hometown of Amherst to watch fireworks on the University of Buffalo campus.
Saturday started with a visit to Clarence for A Day in the Park followed by an afternoon spent knocking on doors in Amherst. That evening Alice joined folks celebrating with music and fireworks in Lockport’s Outwater Park in Niagara County. Sunday, Alice visited the Village of Geneseo in Livingston County where she spent the afternoon going door-to-door introducing herself to voters, stopping for a lemonade at Mama Mia’s and talking to Democrats she had met on earlier visits to this beautiful village. The day was capped off with a stop in Wyoming County to check out the Bliss Wind Farm.

Supporting the Arts with “Grit and Grace”

July 2, 2008 — Alice took some time out of her busy campaign schedule yesterday to show her support for the arts. Artspace Buffalo hosted a tour of its facility which is home to 60 artist lofts and additional commercial space for arts organizations and arts-related businesses. The project promotes the important cultural and economic impact of the arts for the city of Buffalo and the surrounding community.
Alice greeted Senator Clinton at the tour and thanked her for all her work in Western New York and for her ground-breaking presidential run. At the event, Senator Clinton described those of us in Western New York as having “Grit and Grace.” We here at the Kryzan campaign see two women in this photo who match that description as well.
